Here’s what I will, and won’t, bring to working together. If there might be a match, get in touch.
I’ve worked for over 30 years in hi tech businesses (more about my experience here). I originally graduated from Cambridge University in materials science, and I’ve worked with businesses and customers focused on that domain and on chemistry, physics, life science, engineering, and teaching. So the first thing I’ll bring is a concern for technical credibility. I’ve rewritten too many press releases where a marketing writer had butchered the description of my product. I won’t get it right first time, but I’ll usually create a good starting point and then iterate with you quickly to find a result we’re both happy with.

That said, you’re probably not looking for a science writer who really wants to be publishing peer-reviewed papers. Which is good, because that’s not me either! You want someone who knows what sales and marketing teams need in the field – to-the-point, commercially-relevant content that shows the customer why they need your technology. That’s what I’ll produce for you. For example, check out the blogs and case studies written for Intellegens.
Finally, I’ll bring a balanced perspective, and I’ll look for the same from you. I’m lucky to be at a point further on in my career where I’m able to mix work with other interests. I want to work flexibly. For you, that means I can offer experience that you might not normally get from a freelancer working on delivery of practical marketing content. For me, it means the chance to select projects and to work with great businesses that have good people and the right values. I’m not a full-service agency. I’m not trying to sell you strategic consultancy. I am looking for opportunities to get to know a business and its products and then work hands-on on a small project, or a pipeline of such projects. That may not align with your needs right now. But I know enough to know that, in some cases, it will be exactly what’s needed.
If there might be a match for you, let’s have a chat.
